Artist statement

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to places that evoke a certain tension. Places where people do not usually linger, seen from a train, encountered in films, or passed by only briefly. Industrial cities, deserted walkways, tunnels, entranceways and anonymous apartment blocks hold a strange attraction for me. They are places where curiosity and unease coexist.

A place like this can remain in my mind for years before I actually visit it. Not because I find it beautiful in the traditional sense, but because it stirs something in me that I cannot immediately explain. By seeking out and photographing these places, I try to understand why these particular environments continue to fascinate me.

For me, photography is a way of following that curiosity and making it visible.
